Speaking of musical muses
Sep. 14th, 2010 09:31 amI was commenting on my facebook that with Cirque du Soleil looming, and it being my to-date favorite show, the soundtrack has a tendency to detract from any other musical ear worm (or at least it tries. Apparently my brain is perfectly willing to stage a "battle of the bands" in my head when it comes to Cirque and RoM.)
But one of the things I have on my iPod that I really enjoy that is unrelated to either is the soundtrack to the movie Casanova. Firstly, if you haven't seen it, you should. It is horribly delightful and beautiful, and Heath Ledger owns the role almost a little too well. :-) And Jeremy Irons plays the perfect bumbling antagonist to Ledger's almost oblivious take. Along with the film, the music is an amazing collection of classical pieces that set the tone and mood beautifully.
