Reclaiming Christmas

One of the things I remember from my childhood is these wooden ornaments that were painted by hand. I'm told my parents stayed up late several nights to make these, and I discovered them on the tree on Christmas morning.

It is possible that those ornaments still exist in Mom's garage, but given all things, I'm not likely to want to do what it would take to ever see them again.

But through the miracle of Ebay, I found a set that was unpainted and still intact. So now I get to have the fun of making these over for myself. Family is helping to paint them. Now I can have a better associations to them. Makes me happy!
