Journaling in paper to mark time
Mar. 27th, 2020 08:46 amSo.... One thing that seems to be present for all of us is the fact that time sense has changed now that our lives have been turned upside down. I'm finding that I can't distinguish between a few days and a few weeks anymore, and it feels weird.
The usual ways of marking time aren't present anymore, and it's starting to mess with my head. So I think what I'm going to do is start jotting down some notes.. either when I get up, before I go to bed, or maybe throughout the day to remind me of just basic things I did or that happened as a way to find "time" again.
There are lots of electronic options for this, but I have lots and lots of writing materials and several fountain pens that I adore but almost never use. Sounds like a good opportunity. And it doesn't need to be particularly public. This is just a record for me.
How are things for you? Have you noticed that 3 days ago feels like a month ago? What are you doing to mark time these days?

Date: 2020-03-27 09:04 pm (UTC)Usually I check GooCal frequently enough that I keep an eye on what day 'tis. But time is indeed passing...oddly. Without things coming up - trips, outings, whatEVER - I don't have the same urgency to do many things. It's near the end of the month though, so I'll drop the mortgage check into the mailslot over at the post office later today.
FAB idea to use your fountain pens for this! Yeah, making lists of basic tasks can help stay on-task and figure out where the time's gone.
Best wishes, and may you and yours stay safe, sane, and healthy!

Date: 2020-03-28 12:20 pm (UTC)I did not go out to concerts, do stuff with friends or anything, not having a social life offline.
The one thing I do notice is that for a long time (more than a couple months) it has become hard for me to do anything else than pass the time, really, though I could not say what for.
The past couple weeks have done me a world of good and while I do not feel like doing anything much yet I can see it coming on the horizon.
I hope you find a way to stay sane.
