Christmas time is here!
Mar. 3rd, 2020 03:35 amThere are at least two of us in the household that really really love the spirit of Christmas and have a good time getting up the decorations as early as appropriately possible, and keeping them up as long as the household can stand it. I often joke that if we can make it to my birthday (Feb 9th) then I'm perfectly happy with that. Usually we get them down in the first week or two of January.
This year, due to circumstance and travel plans and various other things, we never were able to make the time, so they stayed up.. well into my birthday! :) Those circumstances had me feeling like we rushed through the holiday months, so having it linger was a big blessing for me.
A 10 day trip to the UK and recovering from that coupled with catching up on other things and generally the year trouncing us for time so quickly left the decorations still up. The tree still standing. We've officially made it to the next birthday in the household. :-)
This week, and possibly as early as tonight, we'll take it down and tuck it away until after Thanksgiving this year. And we'll likely seal the deal with a Christmas movie that the hustle and bustle had us missing out on this last year.
How are you for decorations? You have set rituals/plans to get them up and down?
