glitch25So I didn't bring in the A/C this weekend, but I did have several fans up and running. Last night was better than the previous. I can always tell I'm not alone about the heat being a problem when the cats are less anxious to snuggle.
Got quite a bit done at the house this weekend however. Finally found a source for filters for the vacuum, and holy cow (in the pastures, etc etc), it got its suction back. Miracles never cease. Still contemplating a Dyson. But this should hold up for a little while longer. Either that, or I'm going to find some high-end attachments for the shop vac. As Tim Allen would say, that baby could suck the butt out of the cat.
It is always nice to look around and see progress. The edges of the book shelves had a tendency to collect things, and now they are almost completely devoid of everything but books. :-) And I did another round of book cleaning and donated and sold a few as well. I've never been terribly sentimental about books. I usually only keep things I know I'll want to re-read, and typically that only amounts to manuals, or reference materials. Fiction, 90%, is gone after I read it. And these days, most of the rest of the things I read are electronic, so very little shelf space.
We also have these really cool floor cushions to sit on when you're .. ya know.. sitting on the floor. And these are one of those things I've decided I'm not going to give up just yet. I still have fantasies of entertaining people for movie nights and the like, and they will come in handy then. But in the meantime, they serve as masterful fur collectors. So, I decided to get them out of kitty way and clean them up, freshen them up, and then store them away in bags so that they will be accessible, but remain clean until ready to be used.
Little by little it comes together.
