Twitter for me has always been for the passing, non-concrete thought, and the interest of sharing and connecting in the moment. It has been very useful for that. Doesn't work well for long form. But I haven't been in the frame of mind to write long-form, so works out. Except now that asshole plans to own it. While Mastodon has seen a huge growth since the announcement, I'm not seeing a lot of adoption for it or other platforms among those I follow. Which leads me to believe that people either don't care, don't have the energy to worry about it, or are in a wait-and-see posture. At least that simplification seems reasonable.
Me and mine are doing as well as can be expected. Doesn't feel like a fun time right now, but we're doing what we can to keep each other safe. :-)
