I keep meaning to update this. I've really gotten out of the habit, but as more and more of you continue to use it, I have to remember to make greater use too.. Especially since Facebook is horrible for anything more than fleeting thoughts. And it is really nice to have the ability to look back on prior posts.

So many of you probably remember the fact that I went under the knife about a year ago related to sudden onset of pancreatitis (with numbers putting me off the charts) and a gall bladder that was so full of stones that they had to empty it first before they could remove it. As we're fond of saying, I'm an overachiever. :-)

At that time, the usual diagnostics had also shown a mass on my left adrenal gland. A cyst. The concern wasn't so much for the gland, but that the cyst may continue to grow and displace other organs as it continued to fill. We had thoughts to take care of it when I recovered from surgery the last time, but a business trip and with other things, I ended up putting it off.

Fast forward to a year later, and I'm noticing symptoms. Not really pain. Just.. discomfort. Kind of like a gas bubble that just won't go anywhere. So I of course get a hold of my surgeon, and we talk about it, and he's already looking to find space in his schedule that week! So we manage to get scheduled for his earliest availability. And I'm set.

That worked out to be Friday morning.

He managed to do the procedure laparoscopically, so I have a few holes, a drain, and I'm floating one less adrenal gland with accompanying cyst. Everything is achey of course. And likely will be for a few days. But all in all, I'm doing pretty well. I should be up and around for my birthday, which will be the night of the BPO concert at SoulFood. :-)

In the meantime, I'm just going to be taking it easy and rest, and let my loves dote on me. :-) The rough life. :-)
