Long time since I've posted much of substance. Long time since I've posted stuff that isn't of great substance. :-D Google+ is my primary social media app now, and even there I haven't posted much. Been too busy with life, I guess. :-)

Lessee...

Battling fleas. Guess the warm weather has been a boon to the flea-fucking. Trying to go the less toxic route. We're using Frontline Plus along with regular vacuuming, flea combing (into a bowl of water with a drop or two of soap to break the surface tension), and flea traps which I'll be picking up soon. I know it is driving them crazy, and it is starting to drive us crazy too.

A nice "perk" of the fleas is that we're nearly forced to pick up the pace on regular vacuuming, which, in effort to make it easier means the general areas are staying more clear and as a result, cleaner. And in general, things have been looking a fair bit better. I still need to tackle the spare bedroom and make some decisions about how we store things in there, but it is really good to see progress in general.

Still ploughing through Oblivion and having fun with it. I've completed the Mage quest line and am now Arch Mage of the guild, and I have completed the Thieves quest line and am now the Grey Fox. I've chiseled away at the Main quest and am about 3/4 the way through it. It may not be the most productive use of my time, but it does serve to relax me and get my mind off other pressing things. And, as would be suggested of any other thing in life, I take it in moderation. :-)

Work continues to drive me nuts, but only because planning right now outside of work seems so difficult. I've continued to learn that at least this portion of the year, and probably the beginning of next is the ride-the-wave portion. By that I mean where as I prefer to be prepared and plan ahead for things, I don't seem to have a lot of control over how things go. That isn't to say that I won't prepare where I can or that my ingrained desire to make sure things go the way I like is dormant, but it does mean I'm continuing to learn (and maybe even enjoy) the idea that my expectations can be flexible, and that I can be pleased with the results. We've got two modes going at work right now. Sprint as fast as you can, and wait around until the next sprint. Trying to find middle ground continues to frustrate me, so I'm learning to just accept the nature of it, and do my thing in the meantime. I will however be very pleased with mid-to-late First Quarter when things should settle out a little bit.

Sometime in the near future, I want to take some time to get another food blog entry completed. I have an angle on a homemade tortilla post that I just haven't made time to get in the can. But it is yummy, easy, and makes for some very tasty tortillas.

And speaking of food, I have a few ranty posts brewing regarding food and the food industry, and how our country handles things and things that color some of my choices and things I wish would color them more. Won't get into it now because I'll never stop, but suffices to say, it should have some interesting observations in it, and I'm hoping that I can contemplate some personal solutions that might be shareable.

Think that's all that is on my brain at the moment. The carousel isn't really the carousel anymore. It is more the amusement park that I used to live in that I don't get back to see very often. That bothers me a fair bit, but it is kinda where it is at for the moment. Working on keeping certain things alive in my head, and as I continue to push forward, I will make time with the gaps until I get the traction to get my favorite ride spinning again. A lot has been accomplished so far of things I've needed to get done, and as I go, I'll get to the "want to get done" parts.

Enjoy your weekend. :-)
