Twitter for me has always been for the passing, non-concrete thought, and the interest of sharing and connecting in the moment. It has been very useful for that. Doesn't work well for long form. But I haven't been in the frame of mind to write long-form, so works out. Except now that asshole plans to own it. While Mastodon has seen a huge growth since the announcement, I'm not seeing a lot of adoption for it or other platforms among those I follow. Which leads me to believe that people either don't care, don't have the energy to worry about it, or are in a wait-and-see posture. At least that simplification seems reasonable.

Me and mine are doing as well as can be expected. Doesn't feel like a fun time right now, but we're doing what we can to keep each other safe. :-)

Ah, I guess I post photos and the odd meme/article on FB in much the same way as you use(d) Twitter and now use Mastadon. Yeah, it seems like "wait 'n' see" is indeed how most folks are going.

Yeah, not so fun right now, but at least you have each other to maintain a pool of sanity and love to share and not go too far/fast off the deep end. *hugs*

Makes sense. I dropped off the Book of Face some time ago, and really have no good reason to return. Not that other large organizations aren't good with data, but Facebook has been and continues to be particularly egregious, and my data had no business being anywhere near it anymore.
