The Ender 3 is relatively inexpensive. It is a little fiddly though. But as I say, the less you spend, the more you can expect to put time and effort into making it work. Printing the grand catalogs of designs out there is fun, though I'm hoping to get to design some of my own stuff, or at least tweak some things that other people may have done. I envision lots of test prints and tweaks. there is lots to be said about having a thing that makes plastic parts to your specs.
